AQUAMARINE Aquamarine is the birthstone for March and derives its name from "Ocean Water". Aqua, a member of the beryl family, is usually light to medium blue, sometimes with a greenish blue hue. According to some legends, it is the treasure of mermaids, with the power to keep sailors safe at sea. Ancients believed aquamarine endowed the wearer with courage, happiness and increased intelligence. Our Aquas are found in Minas Gerais, Brazil or in Xinjiang, China.
